Thanksgiving Break Plans
Thanksgiving break is nearly here! I asked students around campus about their travel plans, Black Friday shopping experiences, and advice for making the holiday less stressful.
The majority of students I talked to had decided to go home for the holiday break. Students were using buses, taxis, and airplanes to get home.
Students mentioned the times when taxis never showed up and other general annoyances they encountered while traveling home in the past.
They were also a bit worried about navigating the crowded airports of DC en route to their destinations but offered some advice to other students. Students told us that one should get to an airport very early, be careful when packing, and to just be happy that one is going home.
Lastly, we asked students whether or not they have braved malls on Black Friday. One student told us that Black Friday shopping was almost a tradition in her family. In order to avoid the craziness often associated with the occasion, she told us that she gets to the mall at 4 in the morning!
Here’s wishing all of you a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
