In recent months, flooding intensified in the state of Queensland. Queensland makes up Australia’s northeastern quadrant. It is home to Brisbane and tourist spots such as the Great Barrier Reef. Rescue efforts have been in effect and evacuations have taken place.
Australia’s recent weather patterns have affected AU students. In this segment, ATV News reporter, Rachel Rea interviewed Brita Doyle, American University’s Australia Study Abroad adviser.
The best advice Doyle can offer in a situation like this: “Know that bad things can happen everywhere. You just need to be prepared and know to be flexible. Learn to be adaptable because situations can happen.”
